Image
On this cover the image is the main focus and is slightly off centre it adds shading and interest for the audience instead of being plainly in the centre. The image is the main focus of the cover as it's what the audience sees before looking for the title, so the cover has to be interesting, and for this album it has a creative/artistic vibe as it contrasts the realistic image with a cartoon image of a person wings pushing something away, and then the main singer next to it. The image then links to the album title "of men and angels" as it has a picture of a man and of an angel.
Text
The text in the image is only of the album title "of men and angels" which is in the top right hand corner of the album cover, and is all in capital letters so that once the audience has seen the image their view is then drawn to the title straight away. The colours of the title contrast each other in the black and orange, however those colours then link to other colours on the cover in the background images. The contrast in the text could also link to the contrast in the images, and this could then represent that contrast between men and angels, although they're all close to each other which could represent that there are also similarities. The mentioning of "angels" also links directly to a number of songs on the album which mention God, and add a religious view on the album and shows this is an important aspect to the artist, and portrays this to his audiences.
Colours
The colours on the album are mostly neutral and blurred in the background as they aren't the most important aspect of the album cover, however the neutral, plain colour of the wall adds emphasis to the boldness of the black in the foreground of the cover and makes them stand out more to the viewer. The blacks in the foreground draws in the viewers attention and grabs their line of sight towards that as it's the main aspect of the cover. Also, the blue in the background of the image also adds a brighter view and lifts the mood of the cover and creats a relaxed, calm vibe. Having both the male on the front cover and the drawing of an angel both in black links them together, and this could then support the idea that there are similarities between humans and angels and that there is good in people and adds a postive attitude to the album.
