Poster Analysis - You Me at Six

I have chosen a You Me at Six poster to analyse, mainly because our music video is based off one of their songs and their music fits our music genre. I decided on this particular poster because I thought that the poster looked effective when catching the audience’s eye.
It’s a very simple poster, and it doesn’t have too much on it, which in some cases can be ov
erwhelming. When I was looking for a You Me at Six poster, I realised that in nearly every poster, Josh Franceschi is always in the middle, and I’m assuming that’s because he’s the main singer of the band. I’ve noticed that all of their facial expressions are serious, indicating that they could possibly ‘mean business.’

They all follow a similar dress code, which I think makes the poster look, again, smart and classy. I’ve noticed that all of their poses are also pretty laid back, and practically the same, with their hands in their pockets. However, the only person who hasn’t got his hand in his pocket is Josh Franceschi, and I think that little differences like that make it more obvious that he’s the main singer. I’ve noticed that the colour scheme throughout the whole poster is not very bright, and they haven’t used any bright colours. In my opinion I think that if they did use bright colours on their poster, it wouldn’t make it look as smart and as classy as it is now.
I like how the band’s name is at the bottom of the poster, so it’s visible for everyone to see. I’ve noticed that they’ve used an effective editing effect on their name, because it looks like it’s been cello-taped to the actual poster, which, I think, makes the poster look that little bit more interesting.
