This is the third poster I decided to analyse. Unlike the rest, The Rocket Summer isn’t a band, and is a soloist called Bryce Avary, but still fits the same genre as You Me at Six and All Time Low. I picked this poster because I thought it was very eye catching, unique and different.
This particular poster is of his album ‘Do you feel’. I think that the use of editing in this poster is particularly important to include, partly because I think that it makes the whole poster look full and busy. Unlike the other two posters, this poster has a mix of beige, black, grey, white and pink.
I think that Bryce’s pose is very dramatic, and unlike the other two posters, he’s not looking straight at the camera. His pose looks kind of like he’s saying ‘Talk to the hand’. The thing that makes this poster so unique is the fact that it’s the exact picture on his album, and it’s also promoting it. Because he’s a soloist, his dress code is his own choice and he doesn’t have to stick to any colour codes.
I would say that this poster has a similarity with You Me at Six’s poster because of the dark clothing and again, the name of the artists band name; ‘The Rocket Summer’, and I would say that this poster has a similarity with All Time Low’s poster because of the beige/yellow colour in the background.
In my opinion I think that this poster is very much like a cartoon or some kind of paper cut out, which I think makes it all that little bit more unique and different than the other posters.
