Poster Analysis - All Time Low

This is the second poster I have chosen to analyse. I have chosen to analyse this poster because it fits into the same genre as You Me at Six (alternative rock, pop punk). I have decided to choose this particular poster, mainly because it’s similar to the above in some aspects, as it’s a very clear picture of the whole band. Like You Me at Six’s poster, it’s very simple in the way the poster is just of the band, and a plain background and nothing else.

Unlike You Me at Six’s poster, in this poster All Time Low seem to portray a much more funnier side to the band, partly because of their faces looking less serious with smiles and goofy faces, a big thumbs up from Alex Gaskarth, (third one in on the left), and because of their bee antennae headbands. Even though You Me at Six’s poster looks pretty laid back, All Time Low’s seem to be more relaxed and chilled out. For example, on the left Zack Merrick, (second one in) has his arm around Jack Barakats’ shoulder, which, I think, makes the poster look more welcoming and carefree, rather than You Me at Six’s poster, which is more stern and serious looking.
A huge difference between All Time Low’s poster and You Me at Six’s, is that they’ve used bright colours instead of using dark colours. This doesn’t mean that You Me at Six’s poster isn’t good, it just portrays All Time Low’s poster as a happier, fun, energetic poster, whereas You Me at Six’s is more mysterious and smart.
One thing I have noticed is that All Time Low doesn’t actually have their band name on their poster, unlike You Me at Six. However, this shouldn’t be a problem for fans who know this band off by heart anyway. I’ve noticed that the lighting in this poster is more angled at the left side of the poster, whereas the lighting in You Me at Six’s poster is more sophisticated and focused slightly more on their faces.
